Founded in 1978 with a modest capital of KD 30,000 by Abdul Mohsin Al Sabih and Ali Essa Al Wazzan, Kefan Optics started operations as a family owned business with just a single branch in Kuwait’s Kaifan Cooperative Socitey. It has since grown into a regional powerhouse that boasts a capital of KD 1 million, not to mention a host of unmatched luxury products, professionalism and customer service.
Today, a little over three decades later, the company is managed by their sons, Wael Al Sabih and Hussein Al Wazzan. In their capable hands, the company has experienced amazing growth and become a single-source provider for the Middle East optical industry. In fact, it was due to their foresight that the entire stock of the company was saved during the Iraqi invasion in 1999.
Exponential growth came to Kefan Optics due to strategic planning that included store expansion, inclusion of high-end luxury brands and presence in high profile commercial malls like Salhiya, Villa Moda and Al-Mohallab.
This was further driven by its single-minded focus on creating a brand that is customer centric and one that appeals to a wide segment of customers. It has successfully created and established brands viz., Optylife, Optysport and Optyland that cater to the unique eyewear needs of different customer segments.
